Brand click-outs
This page explains what happens when you go from Svoista to a brand's website, and exactly what the consent we ask for before your first visit switches on.
1. The visit code
Every visit gets a random code. It contains no name, e-mail or account identifier. The code is always passed to the brand or the affiliate network, whatever you answered: it lets the brand see the visit came from us and, where the brand works through an affiliate network, lets us earn a commission on the purchase.
With the visit we record which piece, brand and market the link was for. Legal basis: our legitimate interest, because the code on its own identifies nobody.
2. What the consent switches on
The consent switches exactly one thing: whether we keep the visit in your profile, that is, whether we know it was you.
If you said no, or were never asked, the visit is recorded with no link to you at all, and the code cannot be traced back to who made the visit.
Saying no changes nothing about the visit itself: prices, selection and the app work the same either way.
3. Who receives the code
The affiliate network running the brand's programme (currently Awin and Skimlinks), or the brand itself where we have a direct agreement. They receive the visit code only; an account identifier, e-mail or taste profile is never passed to them.
If a purchase follows, the brand or network reports the order number, the amount and, where one applies, the commission to us. We keep this as an accounting record.
4. How long we keep it
Visits not followed by a purchase: 13 months. Visits followed by a purchase, with order data: as long as accounting law requires. When you delete your account, the link to you is removed from every stored visit.
5. How to change your answer
Profile, Settings, “Brand click-outs”. The switch takes effect from your next visit. Codes of visits already passed to partners cannot be recalled.
