How ranking works
This page explains what decides the order of pieces and brands in the feed, search and “Similar”, and what you can do about it.
1. Main parameters
- How closely a piece's style matches your taste profile. This is the main parameter.
- Your “not mine” marks and the reasons you gave: that piece, and pieces with attributes you consistently do not like, move lower but do not disappear.
- What you open, save, try on and visit: pieces with such attributes and from such brands move higher. The types of pieces you opened in the current session are also lifted a little for that session.
- Your budget: a piece above your price range moves lower.
- The categories in your profile, and the season.
- For “Similar”, also visual similarity, type of piece, attributes and colour.
- The filters you choose. The type of piece is a strict filter; other parameters only affect the order.
We show pieces from your market only. The weights of the parameters are set by the Svoista team, the same for all users.
Some of the pieces that match you best are shown in a large format. This is presentation only, not promotion.
2. Without a subscription
The personalised order of the feed is part of the subscription, the trial and the introductory access after sign-up. Without them the feed is sorted by season, price and category, without your taste profile, and the profile itself is kept.
3. What you can change
- Pause learning: Profile, Settings, “Pause behavioural learning”.
- Mark pieces as “not mine”.
- Change the strength of, or remove, what we noticed: Taste, “Showing less” and “Showing more”.
- Change your budget and categories in your profile.
- Use filters in search and the feed.
4. Advertising and commissions
A position in the feed, search or “Similar” cannot be bought.
Brands may pay for banners in the “New” section. Every such banner is marked “ad”. Whether it is shown depends on the market, the campaign's dates and budget, and how many times you have already seen it; your taste profile is not used for this.
Brands that work through affiliate networks pay us a commission on purchases that follow a visit. Whether a brand pays a commission, and how much, is not a ranking parameter.
